Our Spring Studio 1 wrapped last night, and what a special 8 weeks it has been! This group of actors all found themselves circling back to the work, each through their own unique journey, life experience, and time away from acting. There was something incredibly powerful about reconnecting inside of the work together and witnessing everyone rediscover their artistic instincts and courage.

A major takeaway from this session: we can never be too specific. The truth is always in the details. We also explored the idea that actors stay in action, and emotions are simply the byproduct of what we are doing.
What made this class so beautiful and alive was how organically a real sense of community formed between them. There was constant support, with people celebrating auditions, self tapes, and wins in real time. Many would meet up before class for happy hour across the street at El Chupacabra, turning those pre class gatherings into a ritual of connection before stepping into the work. This ensemble didn’t just attend class together, they actively showed up for each other in and out of the room.

And the work is already paying off! One student booked a role during the first week of class, and another booked a role in the final week. So many in this class are auditioning, reemerging, and stepping back into their creative lives with renewed confidence and momentum.
Congratulations to an incredible group of emerging artists. Thank you for trusting the process, each other, and yourselves. Yay Studio 1!
